2. General information
We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy explains which data we collect when you visit https://www.standbuilder.com, how we use it, and the rights you have.
Because we address customers in the United States and in Europe, we apply the standards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to the processing of personal data of individuals in the EU, in addition to applicable US requirements.
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as inquiries you send to us. You can recognize an encrypted connection by “https://” in the address bar and the lock icon in your browser.
3. Legal bases for processing
Where we obtain your consent, processing is based on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Where processing is necessary to perform a contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (for example, to respond to an inquiry about our services), it is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation to which we are subject (for example, statutory retention duties), it is based on Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Where processing is necessary for our legitimate interests or those of a third party, and your interests or fundamental rights and freedoms do not override them, it is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
4. Data we collect on this website
4.1 Server log files
When you visit the website, our hosting provider automatically collects and stores information that your browser transmits, in so-called server log files:
- browser type and version
- operating system used
- referrer URL
- host name of the accessing device
- time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not merged with data from other sources. It is processed to ensure a stable, secure and technically error-free operation of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our hosting provider anonymizes visitor IP addresses at the moment of collection, so full IP addresses are not permanently stored, and log files are retained for a maximum of eight weeks before they are deleted.
This website is hosted by IONOS Inc., Two Logan Square, 100 N 18th St, Suite 400, Philadelphia, PA 19103, USA, acting as our processor under a data processing agreement. Because hosting takes place in the United States, server log data (including IP addresses) is processed in the US; see section 5 on transfers to third countries.
4.2 Cookies
This website uses only strictly necessary cookies, in particular a session cookie required for the basic functioning of the site. These cookies do not analyze your behavior. They are stored on the basis of Section 25(2) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; no consent is required for strictly necessary cookies. Most are session cookies that are deleted when you close your browser. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, which may limit the functionality of the site.
We do not use analytics, tracking, advertising or profiling cookies.
4.3 Contact by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we process the data you provide (such as your name, contact details and the content of your message) in order to handle your request and any follow-up questions. Where your request is aimed at entering into or performing a contract, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; otherwise it is our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, and, where you have given it, your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you may withdraw at any time. We do not share this information without your permission.
We retain this data until your request has been dealt with and it no longer needs to be stored, unless statutory retention periods require otherwise.
4.4 Online appointment scheduling (Calendly)
To book an online meeting, we use Calendly, a scheduling service provided by Calendly LLC, 115 E. Main Street, Suite A1B, Buford, GA 30518, USA. When you use the scheduling link, Calendly processes the data you enter (such as name, email address and appointment details) to arrange the meeting. This may involve a transfer of personal data to the United States (see section 5). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to a contract) and our legitimate interest in efficient scheduling under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. For details, please see Calendly’s privacy notice.
4.5 Contact via WhatsApp
Our website contains a button that opens a chat with us on WhatsApp. WhatsApp is a service of WhatsApp Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland, which is part of the Meta group. Simply visiting our website does not transmit any data to WhatsApp; data is only processed once you actively tap the WhatsApp button and start a chat.
If you contact us via WhatsApp, we process the data you send (in particular your phone number, your name if displayed, and the content of your message) in order to handle your request. The legal basis is your consent through actively choosing this channel and our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries (Art. 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time and instead contact us by email or phone (see section 1).
Please note that WhatsApp processes metadata (such as phone numbers, device information and IP address, and the time and frequency of communication), and that this data may be transmitted to WhatsApp LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc. in the USA. These transfers are based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which WhatsApp LLC and Meta Platforms, Inc. are certified, supplemented by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We have no influence over WhatsApp’s own processing of your data; for details, please see WhatsApp’s privacy policy. For this reason, we recommend using WhatsApp only if you agree to WhatsApp’s terms; otherwise, please use email or phone.
5. Transfers to third countries
Standbuilder International, Inc. is established in the United States, and parts of the processing take place in the US, namely website hosting (IONOS) and appointment scheduling (Calendly). Where personal data of individuals in the EU is transferred to the US, we rely on the following safeguards:
- Appointment scheduling: the transfer to Calendly LLC is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Calendly is self-certified, with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses as a fallback mechanism.
- Website hosting: the transfer to IONOS Inc. is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which IONOS Inc. maintains an active certification, with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses additionally incorporated in the data processing agreement as a further safeguard.
6. Recipients of your data
Depending on the interaction, personal data may be disclosed to: our hosting provider (IONOS); our appointment scheduling provider (Calendly LLC); the messaging provider WhatsApp Ireland Limited, if you choose to contact us via WhatsApp; and, for inquiries relating to Germany and the EU, our joint controller and exclusive service partner CBS Neospace GmbH, to whom such inquiries are forwarded (see section 1). We do not sell your personal data.
7. Your rights
Subject to the conditions of the GDPR, you have the right to obtain confirmation and access to your personal data (Art. 15), and to request rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You also have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f), including profiling (Art. 21).
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
We do not use automated decision-making, including profiling, that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.

Right to lodge a complaint
If you are in the EU, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement, if you consider that the processing of your personal data infringes the GDPR.
